Day Hike Itinerary

6:00 AM – Pickup from Arusha or Moshi

Your adventure starts early with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Enjoy a scenic drive to Kilimanjaro National Park, passing through charming coffee plantations and banana farms along the way.

8:00 AM – Arrive at Marangu Gate (1,860m / 6,102ft)

Upon arrival at Marangu Gate, you’ll meet your professional mountain guide who will give a short briefing on the hike. After registration, we begin our trek through the lush Montane Rainforest zone.

8:30 AM – Begin the Hike to Mandara Hut (2,700m / 8,858ft)

🌿 Trail Highlights:

• Walk through dense rainforest, home to blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, and exotic birds

• See giant ferns and towering trees, with occasional views of Kilimanjaro’s summit

• Pass by small streams and waterfalls, adding to the magical scenery

12:00 PM – Reach Mandara Hut & Explore Maundi Crater

After about 3-4 hours of trekking, arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700m), a popular rest stop for climbers on the Marangu Route. Enjoy a picnic lunch while taking in the beautiful surroundings.

🌋 Optional Short Hike: Visit Maundi Crater, a 15-minute walk from Mandara Hut, offering stunning panoramic views of Kenya’s Amboseli National Park and the Maasai plains.

1:30 PM – Descend Back to Marangu Gate

After a well-deserved break, we begin our descent through the same rainforest trail, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and spotting more wildlife along the way.

4:00 PM – Arrive Back at Marangu Gate & Receive Certificates

Upon arrival at the gate, you’ll receive a certificate of participation as a memento of your Kilimanjaro adventure.

5:00 PM – Return to Arusha or Moshi

Relax and enjoy the scenic drive back to your hotel.

7:00 PM – Drop-off at Your Hotel
